Cardiovascular
Chest Tightness
A feeling of pressure, squeezing, or discomfort in the chest. While potentially serious (cardiac), it also occurs with anxiety, esophageal spasm, musculoskeletal causes, and intense exercise — requiring careful evaluation.
Dizziness / Lightheadedness
Feeling faint, unsteady, or woozy — often positional (orthostatic) or triggered by sudden movement. Common during fasting, low-carb diets, intense exercise, or when starting blood pressure medications.
Elevated Blood Pressure
Persistent high blood pressure readings (≥130/80 mmHg) that increase cardiovascular risk. Can be caused or worsened by several common health optimization practices and medications.
Low Resting Heart Rate (Excessive Bradycardia)
A resting heart rate below 40 bpm in non-athletes may indicate overtraining, medication effects, or cardiac conduction issues. Athletic bradycardia (40–60 bpm) is normal and beneficial.
Palpitations
An awareness of the heartbeat — racing, fluttering, or pounding — that may be alarming but is often benign. Frequently triggered by electrolyte imbalances, stimulants, dehydration, or certain supplements.
