Sleep
Early Morning Waking
Waking 2–3 hours before the desired alarm and being unable to return to sleep — often linked to cortisol surges, alcohol metabolism, low blood sugar, or depression.
Excessive Daytime Sleepiness
Overwhelming urge to sleep during the day despite adequate nighttime sleep duration. May indicate poor sleep quality (fragmented, low slow-wave sleep), sleep apnea, or medication effects.
Insomnia / Difficulty Falling Asleep
Difficulty initiating sleep within 20–30 minutes of lying down — characterized by racing thoughts, physical restlessness, or inability to wind down. Linked to stimulants, blue light, cortisol dysregulation, and overtraining.
Vivid Dreams / Nightmares
Unusually intense, memorable, or disturbing dreams — sometimes causing mid-sleep awakenings. Associated with REM sleep rebound, medication effects, stress, and certain supplements.
